A Containerized Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner is a stand-alone container that is designed to include all medical, facility and ancillary capabilities for the provision of CT scanner diagnostic imaging services. The scanner itself is housed in a radiation-protected stand-alone container with treatment room and control room. CT Scanners are noninvasive radiographic systems that are used to produce thin three-dimensional cross-sectional images (slices) of the human body. Containerized CT Scanner units are designed to operate using on-line electrical power provided locally for the scanner and facility (container) operations, or may be purchased with an optional diesel generator to be totally self-supporting for the electricity requirements for the entire container, including climate control and all imaging equipment. WHO specify a 64 slice CT scanner for Covid response, although lower slice equipment will generally meet core clinical needs.
