Commander Health Supply is an international supplier of personal protective equipment (PPE) based out of New York City and Shanghai.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have provided millions of masks, gowns, gloves, and other PPE products to both US businesses and foreign governments. We have worked with Premier Inc, a publicly traded healthcare company, as well as various nursing homes in the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) network. We are also a partner in the World Bank’s Bank Funded
Procurement (BFP) Program, which allows developing nations to acquire PPE from vetted suppliers.
All of Commander Health Supply’s products meet WHO international safety and quality standards. Our products and factories are fully vetted, and products undergo testing by an outside independent inspection agency. Moreover, we have a dedicated quality control staff stationed on location in our factories to assure the strictest adherence guidelines. We work directly with select manufacturers so that there are no middlemen. This allows us to deliver the lowest possible prices to our customers.
The N95/KN95 respirator masks are air-purifying respirators designed to prevent the wearer from inhaling airborne particulates. They do not protect against the inhalation of gases and vapours. The N95/KN95 Respirator Mask has good breathability with a design that does not collapse against the mouth (e.g. duckbill, cup-shaped). Mask harnesses may have head straps or ear loops.
N95/KN95 respirator masks that protect against blood penetration are known as surgical N95 or medical KN95 respirator masks. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in their webpage Frequently Asked Questions about Personal Protective Equipment2, says, “a surgical N95 is recommended only for use by healthcare personnel (HCP) who need protection from both airborne and fluid hazards (e.g., splashes, sprays). These respirators are not used or needed outside of healthcare settings. In times of shortage, only HCP who are working in a sterile field or who may be exposed to high velocity splashes, sprays, or splatters of blood or body fluids should wear these respirators, such as in operative or procedural settings. Most HCP caring for confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients should not need to use surgical N95 respirators and can use standard N95 respirators. If a surgical N95 is not available for use in operative or procedural settings, then an unvalved N95 respirator may be used with a face shield to help block high velocity streams of blood and body fluids.
